How UseLodger started
Our CTO had already built this close to eight times. Almost none of it was being used.
Before UseLodger existed, our CTO spent years building software for a hotel business running several branches under one owner, close to eight separate systems, each solving a real problem. The systems worked. Almost none were being used.
The problem wasn't the technology. In a busy, owner-run business, decisions about new software rest with whoever's already managing everything else, the staff and managers expected to use it every day rarely get a say until it's already built. That experience taught us something we didn't expect: software that works and software people adopt aren't the same thing.
That's why we started UseLodger around the people running the property, not the other way around, and it's the same principle behind everything else we build.
